A Mother-Daughter Convo

A poem about the rocky relationship between mother and daughter after the tween years.
If you would just listen to me
Sometimes I just want to express myself
Without you criticizing me—
When you were my age,
Things were different.

You don't understand

We're nothing alike
But I'm trying to find my way
Trying to find myself
And I need help
If you would just listen to me

Without criticizing me—
When I was your age...

We didn't do these things

I've been there before
We're just alike

I want to help
