Cain

Cain was mankind's first murder, and the infamous son of Adam and Eve. We can actually learn a lot from Cain because his struggle with jealousy is something I think we all deal with at some point in life—hopefully we can learn from his mistake so we don't repeat it!

Cain is the eldest son of Adam and Eve. Born sometime after they are expelled from the Garden of Eden, Cain is the first person to be "born in sin" meaning born in the fallen world. Whatever eye-opening that occurred when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit was passed on to Cain.

Lineage & Progeny

Cain is the eldest son of Adam and Eve. He has a son name Enoch (not to be confused with Enoch that is a descendant of Shem and goes straight to heaven). Through Enoch Cain's line produces Lamech, the instigator of polygamy and a fellow murder; Jabal, the person who advanced husbandry; Jubal, the person who advanced the arts (specifically music; and Tubal-cain, the person who advanced smithing.

Character

Cain commits one of the worse crimes imaginable to mankind. Adam and Eve disobey God but Cain kills a person, and his own brother at that! Nothing good is really said of Cain, before he kills Abel we are told of Cain's jealousy. The closest thing to a positive we see from Cain is that he names a city after his son.
