Angry faces
Waiting like a sea of vengeance
Intimidating and unyielding
And I question
Why?
Why such animosity
Pent up behind dark eyes
Cold expressions and
Unhappy faces.
Why?
Just in front of me
Staring with eyes of stone
Children barely ripe in youth
With faces of ire and annoyance--
Dispassionate
Why--
This inability to move
Forward into brighter days
Leave the weights and shackles
Of this antagonism
Behind.
